Love the written word? Have a bestseller inside you just waiting to get out? Then you're exactly the sort of person who should head along to this year's Byron Bay Writers Festival. The Festival, one of Byron Bay's most well-regarded, will run from 5-7 of August this year, with literary workshops taking place throughout the week prior to the event. Currently in its fifteenth year, the festival involves a wealth of book-related events, including author talks, conversations, readings, lectures, signings, book launches, and more. It's a great opportunity to rub shoulders with some of publishing's finest and who knows, maybe you’ll finally be inspired to finish that half-written manuscript languishing in your dresser drawer.
It may be a few months away, but three-day early bird pass tickets will go on sale on Friday 8 April, so to guarantee your place at this illustrious festival, held at the Arts & Industrial Estate in Byron Bay, get in early with those credit card details. The full author list is still under wraps, but rumour has it we might be seeing Louise de Bernieres, MJ Hyland, Paul Kelly, and Charlie Pickering—what a line-up! There's a young kids’ and secondary school program too, so there's a little something for everyone at this year's Byron Bay Writers’ Festival.
